Chinese steel exports in March surge to 9.98 million tonnes

According to data released Wednesday by the General Administration of Customs showed, China exported 9.98 million tonnes of steel in March up by 30% YoY and 23% MoM, highest figure since December. The first quarter rose 7.9% YoY to 27.83 million tonnes. The exports data for the quarter is in contradiction to expert reports that the country’s steel imports are likely to decline during the year on account of widespread anti-dumping measures against the country.
